Phonics

Phonics

Phonics is a way of teaching children to recognize individual sounds of letters and is an introduction to the world of reading and writing.  All campuses use Letterland, an award-winning phonics program, where each letter of the alphabet has a story to reinforce the children's learning.

Letters and sounds are introduced as early as 2 years of age. Programs for 3-5 year olds use daily song, repetition and stories during circle time.  Children are also provided with age appropriate workbooks for tracing of letters and teachers make themselves available to sit with children when introducing them to early writing skills

Activity Examples:

  • Daily phonics circle where your child will learn all about the alphabet, letter sounds and "letter of the week" words.
  • Age appropriate work books to reinforce the letters and sound
