Language

Storytelling isn’t just fun, but it can also promote language, listening skills, creative thinking and imagination. Circle time is the most popular vehicle for language activities. Books and stories are chosen based on the children's interests. In addition to stories, rhymes, songs, pictures and audio-stories can all help with language develop and are effective in teaching early reading and language skills to children.

Activity Examples:

  • Daily story-telling by book, felt story or audio story
  • Daily conversation with teachers
  • Daily circle time

Language is also developed through introduction of multiple languages.  All children in our 3-5 year programs are exposed to Early French.  Additionally, many of our teachers are delighted to introduce a few words of their mother tongue.
